Lorenzo “Los” Ortiz de Sevilla has lost everything. Haunted by the death of his fiancée and self-exiled from his Spanish homeland, he arrives on the shores of Albion with a single purpose: to die with honor in a war that isn’t his.

Taken in by the Order of Paladins, Los is thrown together with two unlikely companions—a flamboyant Latin duelist and a stoic Briton of old Roman stock. Though he longs for death, his sorrow awakens in him something he does not yet understand. And when a corrupt noble marks him for death, sending him on missions meant to kill him, Los doesn’t fall.
He rises.
